Harriers Ladies continued their pre-season on Sunday as they travelled to face Abergavenny.
On a very hot afternoon in Wales, it was decided to play three thirds of 30 minutes and it wasn’t long before the home side took the lead with a long range shot which went into the roof of the net.
It took time for Harriers to settle as with four new players in the starting line up, but things started to clique and from a corner when new signing Mia Badland turned the ball in at the front post, giving the keeper no chance.
Abergavenny were then awarded a penalty for handball, but squandered the chance by hitting the bar.
Harriers went in front with a good passing move and a great through ball to Amie Savva, who breezed past the defence and hammered it into the net.
Both teams were playing some really good football and Abergavenny made it 2-2 when keeper Hannah Tromans could only parry a shot, it landed right in front of an Abergavenny player, who made no mistake and scored - that's how the first third ended.
In the second third, both sides created chances but a third came for Harriers half way through, when a good move involving Hannah Ashman and Sophie Richards set up new signing Bailey Raine-Hodge, who ran past the defender and put it into the corner of the net.
That would be how the second third ended, and the final third saw both sides tire, but Harriers were rewarded when Abergavenny couldn't clear their lines and Hannah Ashman blasted it through a couple of players.
With time running, the home side scored their third, pouncing on a momentary lapse in concentration amongst the Harriers defence to slot past the keeper.
