HARRIERS Academy were eliminated from this year's FA Youth Cup on penalties on Tuesday night, losing to Halesowen Town.
The game in the First Qualifying Round saw The Yeltz open the scoring after 25 minutes - Billy Shaw converting a low cross beyoned Harriers keeper Connor Bashford.
Harriers would respond with virtually the last kick of the first half, Cian Fenlon finding the net from close range after being supplied by Harvey Cartwright.
Overall, it was a relatively close first half but Harriers bossed the early parts of the second half, and were rewarded when Jaiden White netted on 57 minutes.
The young attacker was alive to a ball that rolled across the face of goal following a low shot by James Dutton - which Halesowen keeper Harry Sulley tipped onto the post.
However, Halesowen would strike with the last kick of the 90 - Shaw netting his second deep into stoppage time, firing in a rebound following a wide free kick.
Extra time saw both sides continue to fight through fatigue, but Harriers were reduced to ten after 116 minutes as Harvey Cartwright was shown a second yellow card.
No goals would follow, leading the game to a penalty shootout which saw each team take nine kicks - Bashford would go on to keep three of those efforts out, but his opposite number would ensure that Harriers could only net five - meaning The Yeltz enter the hat for the next round, winning 6-5 in the shootout.
