Harriers Ladies gained another three points on Sunday against Coventry City.
Playing their last home game before the break for Christmas, Harriers were again down to the bare bones due to illness, injuries and unavailability, so only had eleven players able to play.
This, though, did give a chance for new goal keeper Alex Banyard to make her debut.
Although not at their best, Harriers were soon on the attack and in complete control, opening up the Coventry defence numerous times, however, the Coventry keeper kept them at bay.
The Ladies took the lead through a free kick from 25 yards as Kirsty Roberts - who was playing outfield this week - stepped up and hit it over the wall and into the roof of the net giving the keeper no chance.
A second followed when Bailey-Raine Hodge put a great ball through to Hannah Ashman, who then delivered a pin point cross into the box which top scorer Danni Selmes headed powerfully home to make it 2-0.
With the team well in control, it wasn’t until the 30th minute when Coventry had an effort on goal but this was easily taken by Banyard.
Into the second half, Coventry did put a bit more pressure onto Harriers but the back three of Beth Dutton, Anne Johnson and Molly Maguire stood strong.
Harriers broke through the Coventry defence on numerous occasions and near the end of the encounter, the Ladies won a penalty which Danni Selmes put away in the corner of the net.
Coventry had one decent chance a free kick that looked to be going in, but a fine jump and catch by Banyard soon stopped it.
With the full-time score being 3-0, it's another three points gained but there is plenty of room for improvement as Harriers Ladies play their last game of 2019 on Sunday against Rugby Town.
