Harriers Ladies travelled to Coventry City on Sunday in the Quarter Final of the League Cup, a competition that the Ladies are the holders of having won last season.
Due to injuries, sickness and unavailability, Harriers could only take a small squad to Warwickshire and we were down to a bare eleven with striker Kirsty Roberts having to go in goal to replace injured keeper Alex Banyard.
The game was played in wet and windy conditions on a 4g pitch and Harriers started well, soon taking the lead through Molly Maguire, and it was soon 2-0 the Harriers when Katie Priest netted.
Harriers were well in control and were passing it around confidently on a nice smooth surface, but Coventry were working hard to limit Harriers' chances.
Leading scorer Danni Selmes got on the score sheet to make it 3-0, Bailey -Raine Hodge made it four to see her team into half time with a healthy advantage, and in control of the tie.
In the second half, Harriers had the breeze on their backs and it took around a minute before they increased the lead through a rare goal from Bethan Dutton.
Coventry never gave up but Harriers' sixth goal came from Hodge, her second of the afternoon.
Goal seven was again through Selmes, then Maguire tapped in after the keeper dropped the ball from a Dutton cross.
Hodge then completed her hat trick, closely followed by Selmes completing hers, and this also being her 50th goal of the season in all comps and Harriers tenth of the afternoon.
The eleventh was scored by Hannah Ashman, and then Selmes added two more to make it 13-0 and book a place in the Semi Final for the third season running.
