EIGHTEEN weeks and seven videos later, Harriers Community Trust's Twilight Programme has concluded.
The Twilight Programme was funded by Community Housing, West Mercia Police, Travis Perkins, Kidderminster Steering Committee and Councillor Tracey Onslow, and involved providing free football.
The sessions were delivered across four venues in the Wyre Forest, with a special video series, filmed with the squad of 2024-25, providing the opportunity to deliver informative messages to young people in attendance.
The video project, consisting of seven short videos, was produced by working closely with West Mercia Police and Community Housing, with the aim of raising awareness.
Nick Griffiths, Community Sports Manager at Kidderminster Harriers Community Trust is delighted with the outcome of the project.
"The Twilight programme engaged over 200 young people. This presented an opportunity to get positive messages to these 13-16 year olds at an influential stage in their lives.
"Harriers players, being in a position that many of the participants aspire to, were happy to convey important messages on mental health, hate crime, knife crime, drugs, county lines, domestic violence and respecting women and girls.
"The importance of educational messages has been highlighted by the news that England player,Jess Carter has received online racist abuse during Euro 25."
