George Bell was one of a number of established players recruited as the rivalry between Harriers and Kidderminster Olympic intensified.
A founder member of West Bromwich Albion, previously the West Bromwich Strollers, Bell served on the club’s first committee and played in its inaugural match in 1879. He scored the winning goal as Albion secured their first trophy, the Staffordshire Senior Cup, in 1883, and later appeared in the 1886 FA Cup Final.
Bell joined Harriers in 1889 and formed part of a squad strengthened by several players with significant experience in the developing professional game.
