Boss: Future is bright

ADAM Murray says George Walker is a threat for National League North defences after another impressive cameo last weekend.
Walker played an eye-catching role in the 3-0 FA Trophy win over Corby in November and, in the following home game, put one on a plate for Luke Spokes in the victory over Chorley.
It’s giving Harriers fans the chance to see a little more of the former Hastings United man following his summer move to DY10.
Murray is delighted with his youngster, saying it reflects on the wider group in general, a relatively young bunch following a summer of change.
“He's desperate to do well,” said the boss. “He's so hungry to do well and I love his attitude.
“Once he gets in his flow, he does things like that. He's a threat for anybody and it was a great goal…”
Harriers are 20 games into the National League season after a sizable squad rebuild in DY10. It was a process with youth at its heart, with Murray adding: “It was part of the process in the summer when we did our recruitment.
“We took a lot of, we're looking now at 17 new players we took in with probably 16 going out, so part of that recruitment plan was to bring young boys in that could help us this season but, for the club for the future, will be assets.
“As with all recruitment, especially with that big number, we did get a couple wrong - we hold our hands up to that, but George is one that's got a bright future and there's a couple of others in there.
“They have to be patient because they want to play every game and they want to play every minute, but there's a lot of work that goes into them away from that.”
Walker isn’t the only player of whom Harriers fans have seen little but can expect a lot in the future.
The Aggborough chief went on: “People like Louis Francis who hasn't got any minutes yet, is going to be a big player for the football club, real big potential, and we've got a few of them.
“You forget Kam, 20 years old, he's a baby, Foulkesy 22, Meeks 23, we've got kids, and they're growing and they're learning and they're getting better.
“For me, in my eyes, and in the group’s eyes, the future is bright and we're in a really good place.”
