ACADEMY striker Bruce Minaker has “earned his place” in the Harriers squad, says boss Adam Murray.
The 18-year-old came off the bench for his second appearance of the season on Tuesday night at Bedford.
He came close to finding a breakthrough, too, with a couple of efforts late on – including an injury-time effort that forced a good save from the goalkeeper.
It continues a Harriers journey for Bruce, who has been with the Reds youth system since 2018.
Manager Murray is pleased with what he’s seen from the youngster, but insists the onus is now on him to make the most of the chances ahead.
The boss commented: “I've said it before, this isn't ‘let's give one of the kids a chance on the bench’, Bruce has earned his place, he's earned his place in the squad.
“You see when he goes on, he's always trying to make something happen, he's not scared to take a shot, he's not scared to take a chance, he puts himself around.
“He's physical, he's got a great mindset and he's always scored goals, so he's one that I want to push, and then like any footballer, it's up to him.”
