PAUL Wotton has expressed his disappointment after Harriers' appeal against the red card shown to Angus MacDonald at Wealdstone was unsuccessful.
MacDonald was dismissed during the first half of Saturday's 4-1 National League victory, leaving Harriers to play the remainder of the contest with ten men.
The day ended successfully as the Reds stormed to a convincing win, albeit at a cost with the loss of MacDonald. Harriers appealed the dismissal, but that appeal has now been rejected, meaning the player will serve a three-match suspension.
Wotton remains of the view that the incident did not warrant a red card, though the Harriers boss accepts the decision has now been made and that the team must "move on."
“We appealed it and the appeal got thrown out, which was very, very disappointing,” he said.
“I just don't see it as serious foul play in my opinion, which doesn't matter, but my opinion was high foot, yellow card, get on with the game.
“I don't see serious foul play. I didn't see serious foul play as endangering another player or deliberately, maliciously. I just didn't see that.
“But the appeal got thrown out and Angus has got three games, so we move on.”
MacDonald's suspension begins with Friday night's Aggborough clash with Hartlepool United (7:45pm).
