Kidderminster HarriersMAX BROGAN believes Harriers can travel to Woking with confidence after demonstrating their adaptability during successive victories at Aggborough. Paul Wotton’s side followed an impressive 2-0 win against Hartlepool United with a hard-earned 1-0 success over Gateshead, securing six points and two clean sheets from a productive few days. Brogan says the contrasting nature of those performances underlined the group’s ability to respond to the different challenges presented in the National League. “You need to adapt to the games because not every game is the same,” he said. “When you’re coming up against different opponents and the game can go in a different way, it’s always good to adapt and do well in both of them. “Everyone has been working really hard on and off the pitch and on the training field. It’s showing that, if we keep working hard, we can get some good results.” Harriers have responded impressively since a difficult opening day at Hornchurch, with the togetherness of the squad helping them establish a strong run of form. “We’ve got a great group of lads,” Brogan added. “Everyone is on the same page, wants to do the same thing and wants to work hard. “After that Hornchurch game, it was good to see our reaction and how well we’ve bounced back from it. “We just keep taking one game at a time and then it’s time for the next one.” Brogan has also enjoyed an increasingly prominent role in recent weeks and twice gone within inches of opening his Harriers account, striking the woodwork against Barrow and Hartlepool. “I’m enjoying that I’m playing and enjoying my football,” he explained. “The main thing is that the team is winning. “I’ve hit both posts now, so I’ll hit the crossbar next! Hopefully I’ll get one in soon.”

Attention now turns towards Saturday’s trip to Woking, another established National League side and a further examination of the progress Harriers have made. Brogan believes their performances against several highly regarded opponents have already shown that the group belongs at this level. “There are some big clubs in this league,” he said. “We’ve played against a couple now and we’ve held our own, so it shows that, on the day, anyone can beat anyone. “You can’t shy away against the big clubs. You’ve got to take every game as it comes. “If you believe in yourself and do what we’re good at, we can definitely do it again. “We’ve just got to go there, do what we’ve been doing, be ourselves and work hard.” Harriers will be without the suspended Angus MacDonald on Saturday as he serves the final game of a three-match suspension. Owen Evans (foot) remains out injured. Kick off at Woking is at 3:00pm on Saturday.

Harriers and Woking have shared a lengthy history in non-league football, with the two clubs regularly crossing paths in the Conference and National League over the years. Both have enjoyed memorable periods in the competition, while also spending spells outside the top tier of the non-league game. More recently, the sides shared a goalless draw at Aggborough on the opening day of the 2023/24 National League season after our promotion from the North, before Woking claimed a 2-1 victory in the return fixture in March 2024.
