PAUL WOTTON says Harriers are relishing their return to Aggborough as they prepare to face an impressive Yeovil Town side on Saturday. Harriers extended their unbeaten run to eight matches with a hard-earned goalless draw at Woking last weekend, securing a third successive clean sheet and moving up to third in the National League table. Wotton believes the confidence and unity within his squad have continued to grow during Harriers’ encouraging start to the campaign. “We’ve got a good amount of points early on, probably more than I would have expected, to be honest,” he admitted. “I think we’re ahead of our target, but we’ve had a good start. “Winning games of football and being on this little unbeaten run helps, and the group are becoming much more together. “They’re getting to know each other much more and spend a lot of time together as footballers. I really, really enjoy the dynamics of the group.” Yeovil also arrive at Aggborough following a positive beginning to the season, and Wotton has been impressed by the quality and organisation of Saturday’s visitors. “They’re excellent,” he explained. “They’re a really good team and you can see how well coached they are. “It’s the first of a run of very, very tough games for us. Yeovil, Boreham Wood, Sutton and Carlisle are the next four games, which can seem daunting, but it’s one game at a time. “Yeovil are a very, very good team. It’s home to Yeovil, it’s a big game and we’re looking forward to it.” Angus MacDonald is available again after completing his three-match suspension, presenting Wotton with a selection decision following Cian Harries’ impressive performances. “Cian Harries has come in and been exceptional, really, so there’s obviously a decision to be made there,” he added. Lewis Walker continues to be assessed following his recent injury, with Wotton admitting Luey Giles is also doubtful for the clash. Owen Evans, meanwhile, continues to make progress with his foot injury. “Lewis Walker, maybe, and Luey Giles is maybe as well,” Wotton confirmed. “It’s a long way to go until the game. You can get a lot of healing done in that time, so we’ll see where we are and pick a team that I think can be competitive and try to get a result on Saturday.” Kick off at Aggborough is at 3:00pm on Saturday

Harriers v The Glovers: The Archive

Harriers and Yeovil are foes of old given meetings between them are documented as going back as far as the 1940s. In what’s hardly a great omen, it took Harriers six attempts to register a win over the Glovers – their 2-0 victory in 1951 coming after 4-0, 6-1 and 8-0 wallopings. The history has been primarily non-league, though the two did collide in four EFL meetings, Harriers winning two, Yeovil triumphing on one, and one draw serving as the most recent meeting (2005) when 4,000 watched on at Aggborough as the two teams played out a 0-0 stalemate that aided a promotion chasing Glovers side far more than it did a Harriers outfit fighting against relegation, ultimately unsuccessfully. One of the wettest games in Harriers history came at Huish Park – they were 2-1 winners on Boxing Day 2003 when goals from John Williams and Sean Parrish proved decisive. Watch it below.
